Kevin is the ‘idea’ guy and principle visionary for Axiom. He is firmly entrenched in the mold of continuous improvement personally and professionally. Kevin has a deep conviction and commitment to education and is constantly on the prowl for a better process, a more efficient system, or an innovation that will keep Axiom on the cutting edge of the industry for his clients. There is hardly a design or remodeling issue that Kevin can’t, or already hasn’t solved. He brings passion and enthusiasm to everything he does and is truly committed to clients who entrust him with their home.“It isn’t about the boards we cut or the drywall we hang. It’s about the invitation onto our client’s property. Our team values this invitation, and we literally celebrate our clients’ transition from nervous and apprehensive to complete confidence and trust.” –Kevin.
LIKES: systematic approaches, quiet mornings, campfires and guitars, and team basketball
DISLIKES: negative bumper stickers, pickles, and cluttered tools
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Kevin has a Master of Science Degree in Wildlife Biology. He used to jump from helicopters to capture bighorn sheep, and canoe down rivers sampling fish populations. Kevin was in the first party to ride the entire Arizona Trail on horseback. The six week trip began at the Utah border near Jacob’s Lake, and ended 860 miles south at the Mexico border by Sierra Vista.
Co-Founder, Owner, and Mission Control
What you see is what you get with Diane. She is a genuine good-hearted person who works hard and quietly goes about making her contribution in life. Diane is the foundation of everything Axiom represents. The company culture and out core values stem from her compassion and balance. Diane is the rudder of Axiom, charged with making sure we are on the right path in all that we do.Likes: hiking, a good book, playing piano, and gardeningDislikes: brussels sprouts and hot sauce, long grocery lines, and summer heat
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Diane is also an elementary-level special education teacher, and has been for 18 years. She was voted teacher of the year in 2010 and loves helping special needs children achieve success. While she may be a bookworm, she isn’t afraid of getting dirty. She knows her way around nail guns and miter saws, and can lay down a bead of caulk with the best of them. She loves the outdoors, and is always planning her next hike.
Andrea brings a simple and infectious “make it happen!” mindset to Axiom. It is no wonder she obtained her B.S. in Civil Engineering, and two Master’s Degrees (one in Construction Management and the other in Business Administration) – by age 24! There is no part of Axiom Andrea doesn’t influence. She ensures our estimating and project management processes become and remain best-in-class, oversees all things financial, and models the character traits of a leader worth following. Andrea is that rare combination of old-fashioned blue collar and cutting edge tech junkie. On one day you may find her in the trenches with a shovel, and on the next coordinating project details on the fly through our cloud-based construction management software.
Likes: mint chocolate chip ice cream, hiking, and organization
Dislikes: dirty dishes, lukewarm coffee, and cold weather
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Andrea’s interest in all things building started with afternoons in her Grandfather’s hardware store in Buffalo, NY doing homework between the paint shaker and shelves of nails. Since then she’s moved around the country from Boston to Las Vegas for school and work. She has finally found a home in Kingman where she starts her mornings tending to her plants and farm animals before diving into work.
Estimator and Project Manager
If there is a more organized and detail-oriented construction professional around, we haven’t met one. In a construction career spanning more than four decades Jim has amassed hands on experience in most all of the trades, ran his own company, and built projects ranging from Apartments to Boat Docks. Jim spent nearly two decades as a city Plans Examiner and Senior Building Official, and was recognized as the AZBO Building Official of the year in 2015 by the Arizona Building Officials Association. His humble disposition and willingness to help people solve problems is consistently reassuring.
Likes: happy people, chasing waterfalls in Maui and California, homemade salsa and great pizza!
Dislikes: an unhappy wife, beets, and a low battery.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Graduated with a BA in Economics from San Diego State University in 1982, [He didn’t live on campus!]; When he was more pliable, he would snow ski Mammoth, Vail, Beaver Creek and Mount Baldy. He spent his childhood swimming and fishing on the north shores of Long Island and southern California. Now he is more content to be on a productive Bible study.
Above all else, Sal cares. His joyful approach to daily work done well makes Sal an instant hit with our clients. He is always the first one on the job and the last one to leave. His 20 year construction career spans nearly every trade and project type. Sal has an uncanny ability to solve problems, get in-house work done, and coordinate other trades. On a typical day one could easily find Sal installing a roll-up door assembly, meeting with building inspectors, making things happen in Procore, and checking in with a client for a progress update. His commitment to personal and professional excellence is truly inspiring.
Likes: coffee in the morning, his wife’s cooking, and seeing his children happy
Dislikes: leaving customers unhappy, spaghetti, and a messy house
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Sal’s construction history started back when he lived in a small town in Mexico. He grew up helping his dad on the ranch and building homes with only wood and tile; not only for his family of 15 but also the other residents of the town. Transitioning from building homes with his dad to building commercial buildings and homes with Axiom has given Sal a great knowledge of construction.
